My creative, academic and reporting work has been published or is forthcoming in The New York Times, Orion Magazine, ZORA, Catapult, Lonely Planet, The Caribbean Writer, The Puerto Rico Review, Popsugar and elsewhere. I wrote a chapter about environmental justice and food sovereignty efforts in Vieques, Puerto Rico for the book The World We Need by The New Press, published in May of 2021.
My book, La narrativa activista de Rosario Ferré, about literature as activism, dissects the themes of feminism and national identity in the early work of the Puerto Rican writer. The book was published by McGraw-Hill Spain in 2020 and became an Amazon bestseller.
I have a master’s degree with distinction in Latin American literature from the University of Barcelona and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the Mountainview MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University, where I was the recipient of the two-year Mountain Scholarship. I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in literature.
